I’m leaving for a 10 day Meditation Retreat on Wednesday. This is the first time in my life I am doing anything like this.

I’ve included some links about this meditation.

Be on the lookout for a recap of my experience when I come back in the end of October.

Some people may think that doing something like this is too intense, or that the claims are too farfetched.

Since starting this meditation at home I haven’t had any crazy breakthroughs. However, my days have been a little more relaxed and calm. It may be the placebo effect, it may be this meditation but my philosophy is as long as it works why does it matter?

Ten days may seem like a long time, but in the scope of my entire life 10 days isn’t too big of an investment. If I realize that this meditation isn’t for me then at the very least I get to travel and stay in a cabin for 10 days for pretty much free (The retreat is free and funded through donations).

However, if this meditation does provide more insight or clarity the effects may prove to be life changing. If this is the case then 10 days isn’t too bad of an investment at all.

No matter what happens I figure I can’t lose out and may in fact experience something worthwhile.

Once I come back from the retreat I am planning to start writing a few posts on a book I am readingĀ The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. I want to share some of the exercises given in the book and hopefully we can together apply some of the stuff suggested to our own lives.
